So i was looking to find some nice diodes and I stumbled on this-- Single Mode Laser Diodes I guess it takes most of the laser speckles away.I was curious if this would help with burning or if someone could tell me better uses for it.

You got the url wrong, you added "--I" to the end. :tsk:... J/K.

Seeing as it reduces the power by 15% it wouldn't be the best, just keeping the lens clean would work the same/better for burning and definitely cheaper! Cool find though.

Datasheet there says 85% transmission, so it supposedly cleans up the beam by using "a spatial phase modulator to modify relative phase across a laser beam and to randomize it rapidly in a time sequence", but reduces power by around 15%.

Does anyone know anything else about these? Would these "clean up" the beam of a multimode 9mm?
