Hello,

What is the main difference between single longitudinal mode and single transverse mode in laser diodes.

Which one among these is known to give a better focusing spot.

Thanks,
Abhi

Single transverse mode is the one that gives the smallest focal point. Single longitudinal mode has to do with the frequency (wavelength) of the laser, namely the standing waves in the cavity.
