I don't know if this is the right section, but I don't care because I am so happy I finally finished it. it is an ATX power supply from an old computer, thanks to meatball showing me a cool vid on instructables. :thanks:It is putting out 12, 5, & 3 vdc at the local terinals I installed. the peltier (TEC) came from a broken mini fridge i had. and the heat sink and fan came out of the same computer that i robbed the ATX. now all i need is a green module.

also, this build saved me a ton of money at work. I rebuild and test circuit breakers, and a Siemens factory power supply that puts out those voltages (which is what I need) costs like $300 bucks!!!!

edit* i forgot to put the tell and show the forums some of your power supplies too!!!!

That's the kind of engineering I like the most :D!

the heat sink and fan came out of the same computer that i robbed the ATX.

Rob things? YEAHHHHH

now all i need is a green module.

You should know it by now but... www.0-like.com--Ê×Ò³ :p

The 150mW module is awesome, I've heard very nice things about the TEC cooled lab style one too.

Another great source for TEC is the cheap 12v coolers- found mine for $2 'cause she lacked the cord at a thrift shop. They routinely throw away PCs(ps -fan-heatsinks) old printer/scanners- (1st surface mirrors- steppers-scanner assemblies and dc motors) and much more.--hak

update to my set up. I killed my rkcstr with my tec. http://laserpointerforums.com/f42/wanna-learn-how-kill-rkcstr-41680.html

so i made a ddl and am in the process of testing how long it can run my tec. 250 ma from my rkcst was not enough. now i have my ddl set to 615 (arbitrary yes, but any number would be at this point). so it is 10:30 california time and the longevity test begins.

when all said and done i am going to throw it all in an aluminum box and do the whole thing again but with a PHR and tec to see how far it can really be pushed.

this is never going to be a portable unit. 120 input to my atx only.

and now a BIG thank you to jayrob. you always make quality builds. i got the idea from you obviously, but i figured it was time for me to take a few for the team and really push a PHR to the absolute max. the aluminum box i am using is going to actually directly house the aixiz module the box will be the heatsink and the tec will be mounted under that with thermal compound.
