See this interesting article over on optics org discussing lasers being overspec, used in public situations like sporting events, in the military both offensively and defensively & aircraft + more.. They even have a snapshot of a bit of discussion here about how to package the lasers to get by customs.. this is not good!

We are labeled as smugglers too!

?Non-lethal? lasers not always as specified

It say's most commercially available 1W lasers are marked class 3b??? Since when? I have only ever seen them marked class IV?

And it doesn't say we are smugglers! The name of that thread was "My idea of smuggling one laser in to countries"

And to whoever authored that thread...You could have been a bit more subtle!!! All you have to do is log on to the forum..Write in the search box "smuggling lasers" and it's the second post to pop up! Any journo looking for ammo against "laser smugglers" can now find it easily..

I would file a complaint for using this forum as smuggling tools. As always they highlight just a small part of the laser hobby and ignore how we put many affords to warn about lasers dangers.

yes it does! look under the pic of posts on this site, it says:
"Smugglers! Chatroom discussions on avoiding import restrictions. "

Got the Blues over this?:
The only version of this I could find was with no lyrics.. apparently they
dont allow that anymore! :(

Nope. It's all stick, and no carrot.

I've come to the decision a while back. I will not send a complete laser across international borders. No way, no how.

Have had a few PO'd messages as a result.
