Scammed by jake21!!!!

no, i doubt that he is in the hospital (could be, but i doubt it). jake will talk or PM all the way up until he gets what he wants, then you can't get in touch with him. seems like he only wants to talk about what benefits him at the moment. he's frustrating to do business with, so that's why i stopped selling him stuff.

this is another example of our useless rep system. he read the reps of jake21 and thought everything would go smooth. guess rep points about "nice avatar" and "cool guy" don't say alot about how a person does business. about the banning of jake... need to know how many people he has screwed. total it up and then take a step back and see how bad it really is. then decide.

thats the point. other people do give reps for stupid stuff like that and then other people see the rep point # and think "they must be ok to B/S/T with because they have a high number." then when things go south, they say that they should have listened to everyone or done a little more research instead.

So glad i avoided him....so glad... and i really hope everyone gets what they are owed... or at least a little reassurance of some kind.

Jake has simply proved that people DO change. i dont care HOW sick you are, its a load. millions of people carry on with their usual bussiness EVERY DAY sick or not.

like i said, theres a few people including ME, that have mentioned they are also sick, and must take grueling amounts of medicine with horrible side effects EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Im on medicine that i have to drive and go get EVERY DAY for the REST OF MY LIFE. but i have no choice in the matter. if i dont, i will get ill, and die if i do not have this medication. and it is so regulated in the state of NC that it cannot be taken home, it is given out dose by dose with armed guards for christs sake! now if thats not a pain in the ass i dont know what is..............

my point..... even though i deal with this every day, and suffer the side effects all day long. i STILL conduct my bussiness with my customers as usual. blowing my customers off would be like blowing the food off my daughters plate! yeah, forgot to mention i have 2 kids as well. all of that ontop of everything else... so i HIGHLY doubt that a little trouble with insulin made his bussiness come CRASHING down around him.

if you ask me... his behavior resembles that of a junkie trying to get a fix. he'll say and do anything to get what he needs....then dissapear... just MO. i've seen it all too many times...

Amen. I've had a couple bad dealings with members with high rep points, Jake included. Don't base it on those. New members, like me, don't know who to trust or not and vultures prey on them. :yabbmad:

I don't think the rep points are particularly misleading.. You are quite a careless buyer if you do not even read what the positive rep points are for on the user's profile. Why not spend 2-3 minutes reading only the transaction feedback and maybe searching for the user's name to see if there are any threads about him, instead of AFTERWARDS wasting several weeks trying to get your money and stuff back.
Now, I am not saying that the people who bought from Jake were careless buyers as Jake has loads of good comments too and many members who support him (or did before), but in the case of another seller who has 10 "nice avatar" reps and nothing else, it shouldn't be that difficult to find out that he might not be an experienced seller..
IMO the rep system is working perfectly with veterans having more power to give and take points and all rep-comments being visible. If I am dealing with someone I know more or less exactly what is to be expected.

Now for Jake.. hope seems to fade more and more. This is probably going to end REALLY bad for him.

it's not about the ammount of rep points, it's about who gives them and what the content of the comment is. The fact is that except T_warne all the other comments on him were like "everything ok". So bad that I didn't trust him at time.

Exactly Albert, that was my point!
Jake is a special case and it did not have anything to do with our rep system being good or bad. If you had to ask around the forum instead to see who trusted him and who didn't, you would end up with the same result - many senior members think he is a nice and honest guy and have never had problems with him while a few have been through hell. You would probably still buy from him.
This purely illustrates, as Darkarmyofone said, that people DO change. Jake has gone from nice guy who makes most buyers happy to Seller From Hell.

I am sorry you feel that way, as has been stated above it is only a very small percentage of deals that go sour, it is an even smaller percentage of sellers that "appear" to take advantage.
I do not think that any of the regular sellers who have "gone bad" intended to scam anyone, they just got out of their depth and didn't have the maturity or the experience to put it right.
But as this thread is about jake and I will assume he knows about it I will say this.
Jake, you need to get in touch with a senior member by PM and let him help you sort this. To do nothing is not an option, there is every chance that someone will eventually take this to the authorities and start legal action, then the outcome will not be good for you now or for the future.

i also have to say that all the other sellers here except Jake have worked Ok for me and I've never heard of anyone having problems with any senior member (except 2 guys with laser_ben, minor issue at which he responed and solved fast).

I don't want new people to get scared of buying from members here. Most of the people here are honest and kind, althought there are always exceptions.

I'm wondering how many time will it take for the other seniors to belive jake has REALLY scammed people.
