WHAT! This is almost funny, how do they ever plan do ever do this successfully?

I bet the same thing that happend with the gun ban scare will happen now, Ie. quadcopter sales will skyrocket. :D

APEX1, Who sent you the letter, was it the company you bought it from?

Yeah the manufacturer sent a letter to me. I'll take a pic of it and post it here.. weird right?

Are you kidding? You even work for the government. They even know how many times a day you use the restroom!

Alan

Hahahaha. The government really isn't worried about you and I lol they have bigger fish to fry!

Just like the electronics buried deep in new cars. They record where you go, how long you are there, your driving habits and so on. Then they can shut off your car and lock you inside whenever they feel like it. They can use that record to build a case against you.
Oh, your cellphone also!

I really hope you don't believe all that!

Now this drone registration may flop and I hope people fight for freedom no matter what.
But you can bet your life that the Federal Government is mandating what goes into new cars.

The tv adds for Progressive insurance offers safe driver reduced policy buy giving you a gizmo to plug in. Thats something I wouldnt want even to save money, on top of being kinda creepy (who knows were that info goes) I might want to have some fun and bury the gas peddle an open up my car one day on a safe road

Could have sworn progressive is rated as one of the worst insurances to have. Besides, their whole accident forgiveness thing is not free. Haven't looked it up but there's no way you are not paying for that somehow. They wouldn't offer it if they weren't making $ off of it.
Thought Geiko had something like that too. Whatever gimmick works to make more $ is what is pushed. No free lunch.

Listen, you're entitled to that belief. I fought for that privilege! I'm now doing so behind a desk with a 25ft screen! our cameras are NOT pointed in your direction!!! You are not being watched (unless your suspected of being a terrorist)

Just because you're not watching me on your 25 foot screen right this second does not mean my privacy has not been invaded, or that we don't live in a less free country.

If I buy a car and I want to alter the fuel air mapping to get better performance, there should be no law telling me what I can do with my own property, other than existing laws that pretty much cover doing any harm to any one else.

Did you know it's actually illegal to delete your own browser history? Unless your Hillary, then you don't have to obey any inconvenient laws, or produce documents as ordered.

Speaking of terrorist, why are we helping them to obtain nuclear weapons?

You all act like all this de-privatization of information is something new...it's been around for quite a while. There is nothing anyone has to hide, because the government already knows it all. Not much point in getting your pants in a twist trying to protect yourself now.

I appreciate that you serve / have server our country, I just can't turn a blind eye to the degradation of our rights and freedoms.
I don't have anything against you personally and I am also sharing my thoughts and opinions. :)

At least we have a lot of candidates this time and even though we can't fix everything I sincerely hope we can at least slow the bleeding.

So much has happened in the last decade and so many people seem to take our freedom for granted.

It's an exciting time to be alive, I only hope we can continue to enjoy it as free people with a hopeful future, a future that we can be proud of once it's become our history.

I hope we can all look back and say we enjoyed it and know our future generations will have the ability to know freedom and achieve great things.

Are you kidding? If On Star can unlock your doors for you and your GPS unit can tell exactly where you are to tell you to turn right in 200 feet. Just imagine what the government is able to do. I am not paranoid but I am not fooling myself either. Both the government and private companies have large buildings filled to the ceiling with massive server farms recording pretty much whatever they want. I have nothing to hide so record away but again, don't turn a blind eye to it as the German people did to the Nazis in the the 30's.
It all pretty much doesn't matter anyways as I give humanity only 20 to 60 years anyways.

Aside from a revolution, anyone in the foreseeable future who intends to use a drone illegally is more than likely going to build it themselves. It's becoming easier and easier, and by doing that you can be absolutely sure that nothing is being broadcast to the government.

Also, analog analog analog! Might seem like a no-brainier, but with no or very few electronics you can limit the info you're giving them. Don't even trust TTL DPSS drivers! ;)

This is an attempt to take these away, not fix any problems.

So if you build a kit, or build your own out of parts and a generic processor I suppose you will be in possession of an illegal unregistered drone?

After registration comes all the rules and regulations, fees, licensing, permission to fly in advance.

You will not be allowed to sell your toy airplane without a transfer and pre registration of the new owner.

Basically when you register you just gave your toy to the government and they are allowing you to hold it and use it if you pay the fees and this and that and you must not lose or sell or give it away without permission.

ONCE YOU REGISTER IT, IT'S NOT YOURS ANYMORE!

Pass a law against flying near airports, make people responsible for their actions.
If you cause damage with a drone you are responsible, just like if you cause damage with a rock or a stick.

We can have freedom, but we must have responsibility, otherwise everything becomes illegal without a permit and fees paid, if we don't enforce responsibility we lose freedom.

We are on the path to being totally controlled, we are on the path to becoming the property of our government.

Some of you may say, but we register our cars, yes and you pay annual tax, you pay for a tag, you pay for a license to drive, you pay for insurance. You must obey rules.

How many of you drive the speed limit?

In 1970 when we had big cars with bias ply tires and drum brakes the speed limit was higher.
Today with modern tires and antilock brakes cars are much more capable of stopping from speed.

The truth is they make BILLIONS in ticket revenue, for people driving faster than a posted limit that most of us don't want.

Hell we have a express lane on the interstate I already paid for, and pay in gas tax, and other tax, yet I have to pay extra to use the left lane.
There is no end to this.
When we trade personal responsibility for universal restrictions we all pay and then we get exploited after we give up our freedom for perceived safety.

Germany has a good system, electronic signs display the safe speed based on traffic, and between cities there is no limit.
A little taste of freedom, if you can afford it.

Hold drone users responsible for their actions.
But if we let the government control and regulate it, then it turns into another loss of freedom and a never ending tax rape.

GM and their damn northstar. I hate working on chevys.. they have a damn module for every damn thing in the car. MOST CARS DO NOT RECORD YOUR DRIVING.. YET!!! the only thing that a car will record is when an OBD2 monitor has failed.. such as catalyst effeciency or a misfire. It then lets you know the conditions happening while it failed.
I always tell people with passwords for their things.. "you life is not that interesting"
