This is sort of an odd request, but do they sell anything like this that's relatively cheap? I was hoping to maybe find something a little cheaper, but if not, then oh well. Right now I own a cheap laser pointer I bought at Office Max and I want to be able to plug it into the wall so I don't have to keep changing batteries. I have no electronics background whatsoever, so I have no idea how you would go about possibly converting the product so that you could plug it into the wall and never have to worry about changing batteries. Anyone?

You're going to need a well-regulated and filtered power supply, so a cheap wall-plug one isn't going to do it!

You will also need to make sure that your pointer has good current regulation inside (or build it yourself), as some cheap pointers count on not being able to draw too much current from a small battery, but that won't be the case when it's plugged in!

Have you thought about using rechargeable batteries? (Make sure it will work OK with them, though, as the voltage on these is often a bit less).

You could also just build a small, wall-powered laser yourself! A 5mw laser module can be found for dirt-cheap, just need to get/build a good regulated power supply, and you're in business! ;)
