Okay, Ive decided to share this story because I have been seeing alot of threads and posts of people wanting cheapo china green lasers. And actually compare them to the high quality lasers on the market.
Well, I for some stupid reason had my viper in my pocket, and as I was getting into the car to take the trash down to the end of our street, I stepped over a rain puddle, and out falls my viper INTO the puddle. I was so pissed at myself for even leaving it in my pocket in the first place, never mind the rain. Im literally still kicking myself for doing it. Anyway I grabbed it as quick as possible, which seemed like a life time of reaching at the time, the laser was almost half submerged, but not up to the aperature hole. I opened it, checked it for water, and left it to dry for a few hours just incase.
Well, for some reason, it WORKS fine, good as new, only thing is a small chip in the paint. I doubt a cheapo rayfoss(unless its waterproof) would have survived that. Even if no water got in, the drop alone is enough to misalign the crystals. I was even on DL about to grab the 160mW model as a replacement, but thankfully I dont have to.
I love my viper, and It took an eyeopener to see just how much. I love my exotic wavelengths and all, but this viper is my favorite:angel:

My 50mw ledshop laser has taken one hell of a beating, this includes me being hit by a car while its in my pocket. Still worked but wouldn't you know it i had a pole like bruise on my thigh.
It got beaten so bad that half the black grip stuff on it came off, and it works great.
But for water i would not know i have been good about keeping things out of water.

The 50mW LED Shoppe lasers aren't CNI, but I'd agree they are good builds too. I've droped mine a few times and it's fine. My PGL-III-A is built tough too. I'm very careful with it but I'd bet it could take the abuse.
