I got a 10mw green laser pointer pen of DX, and i got a 200mw red one from DX(about 20mw)(the focusable laser)

I want to upgrade these laser. I already searched for tutorials, but i cant get the green 10mw laser top loose. Its stuck as hell, what do i need to do to upgrade this laser pointer pen?

And what do i need to do to upgrade the 200mw red laser from DX? just tight the screw?

Don't pot mod the DX200. It is perfect the way it is. More power will lower diode life.

Like people say, there is no substitute for buying a more powerful laser. They don't make powerful lasers and pot mod them down and sell it to you. If anything they pot mod it up if it is DX or something. Thus pot modding will shorten it's life considerably, it's just not worth it.

its only about 20 a 30mw. It said 200mw when i bought it. I want to upgrade it, no matter if it shortens its lifetime. And i've heard that green 10mw laser are easy to upgrade, that its just a single screw to tighten.
Only problem is, i cant get the top of the laser loose.

You do not sound like you know what youre doing at all.

First of all: Are you basing the fact that the 200mw is really 20mW (which I THINK I am comprehending from your post...) on your vision? Red appears alot dimmer than green does to the human eye. Because 532nm (green) is one of the brightest colors to the human eye, it appears alot brighter than 650nm (red).

Pot modding your laser will ruin it. You do not sound like you know what you are doing/have researched it alot.

200mw will burn something, will let something smoke.
this laser does not let anything black smoke at all, it doesnt hurt my skin on any way, no matter how i focus the dot(smallest as possible).
If i know my true 50mw green laser is really 50mw, and green is brighter to human eyes, i'd say this laser is about 30mw max. (my true 50mw green burns my skin and lets anything black smoke instantly)

Just need to do to upgrade both lasers. There is a slight change that pot modding works, and im willing to take the risc.
But i couldnt find a tutorial how do do this at the DX 200mw red laser, and i dont know how to pull the top of the 10mw green laser off.

If its not putting out 200mW then send it back for a replacement, modding it will just break it more.

but they reimburse your shipping, and it generally only costs about $10-$20.

Or try new batteries. If you're going to buy a new one you might as well mess with the pot AFTER you confirm its not the batteries. Unscrew the head, there's a screw on the board, turn that in tiny tiny increments until it gets bright. OR before you do that, use a multimeter and see how much current it is drawing. I think mine was around 250mA.

WARNING: If you're not sure of what you're doing, be very aware that you might cause the laser to break all together. If you're buying a new one anyway this isn't really a big deal. I'll buy the broken one off of you though (if you dont adjust the pot) if you don't want to mess with it. PM me if you wanna sell it :)

Hehe... I'm working on a second dilda-ray for another member on the forum, he's sending me the parts in the mail so I'm just throwing it together for free. Well, almost free... I get to keep the red diode that comes in the dilda. Also, that one guy who bought the laser from the 'scammer' guy is sending me his dilda-ray to fix up too. I'm the king of the dilda-ray laser  ;D

It's not a screw, it's a potentiometer.
