There does seem to be a rash of spam lately. Wondering if the forum came up on somebody's radar?

I always report one or two of these guys when they do this mass spamming, it's usually enough to get a mods attention, if they're on; unfortunately, you do have to wait at least one minute between reports.

These guys usually have a bunch of random letters and numbers for a user name, but this last group has names that sound somewhat normal, so you may think they would be legit, at least until they start spamming.

Yup, they learned a way to blend in better and make it a hell of a hard time to get each post deleted. As far as the LPF radar like BobM mentioned there has to be 1000's and 1000's of forums..
Someone took the time to study this forum and like I said hit every possible thread topic from general to optic's. Make's me wonder if you get what i'm thinking:whistle:
Would you buy from someone when they use sleezey tactic's??

That might be a good idea, at least for the spammers that are robots.

I tend to check the forums quite a lot, and try to stay on top of the spam. It's most likely a automated system signing up and doing ads? :undecided:

The fastest way to notify the mods is actually the report feature instead of PM. We get an email notification even when offline, so if there's trouble we can be on top of it ASAP. Like BTG said, no need to go through and report all of them, even just reporting one post is enough as all recent threads are visible and any other spam threads will be seen. Just take a look at the "companies" or "gas lasers" sub-forum, it'll give you a headache

Feel free to use the report button for anything else too such as misconduct or trolling, it doesn't flag the user or anything it just sends us a message. :yh:

Those were taken down fairly fast, but if you need some help, I'm on here quite a lot and would also be willing to do so, if given the authority. I don't need to be a "moderator", but would be happy to have that ability.

Yeah it seems the spam attacks go in waves. Hopefully it will die down soon. As the others have said, best way is to just report as many of the spam threads as possible. With all the reports every now and then one can fall through the cracks though so feel free to PM me if a spam threads appears to have been forgotten.

Good advice. Has been really bad recently.

I still can't figure why anyone bothers to SPAM like that --- nobody in their right mind would ever purchase anything from them---go figure.

Nice work and many thanks to all the moderators for doing a great job of getting rid of the SPAM posts as quickly as possible.

Hopefully the current wave of SPAM posts will end soon----until then will keep reporting SPAM posts when I see them.

Agreed, I can't imagine anyone even thinking of buying from one of these spammers, no matter what kind of forum they spam, or what they are selling.

Unfortunately, by the time I see one it has already been reported. I got a series of 6 in my email...... one after another. They are a pain.

No one can PM me unless I have added them as a friend first, started doing that some time ago due to the gawd awful nasty photo's a banned member was sending me when signing up for a new ID.

He sent that damn thing to everyone. I got several myself. I hate getting spam in my PM box. You can't tell what it is until you open it.

Hey, Chris. Just noticed we have matching rep.
