If you're like me, then you HATE seeing the same hosts modified over, and over, and over. I've seen enough C6's to make me cringe at more sales threads for them. So I spent the last little bit scanning the 1334 listings for "CREE LED flashlights" on DX, and found a good dozen or so that I plan to [hopefully] make decent lasers later next month. I also found THIS pink C3 that some may find interesting for a 405 or 660 build. Plus there's C3 heatsinks already floating around so no need to get crazy (the only one I can think of with them is Moh and apparently only one in stock, but that may change with time. Anywho, I hope you enjoy the host, take care :)

Ah, pink host -> good for marketing to women, haha

I was wondering, what happens if you want to get a host that doesn't already have a heatsink, can you send it to someone to get them to machine a heatsink for you? I wonder if Flaminpyro would do that or Eudanium (forgot his actual username).

Wolfman, Eudo, and perhaps Flamin, I know Wolf and Eud have it in their sigs, although Flamin dibble dabbles so perhaps. That's what I plan to do with the other hosts I'm trying out.

If you need nice tight tolerance USA Made Heat Sinks
I'd go with Flaminpyro... but you''l need to wait 3 days
before he's back on the Forum...

That being said Wolfman does things for pretty cheap, RHD generally sources to him for cheap heatsinks. However, that being said, they need to be simple~ish (no CNC) Eud is in Croatia so the shipping will be Intl. as well as longer, but there's the good reputation involved and if you need something complicated, like threads, then there's your option. Flamin also has an amazing service/rep report, and a bunch of other doodads that you can add on like diode presses and test loads, all at one stop shopping. So up to you in my opinion.

You can use this online program for easy 3D objects. You see the object before it can be made. Measure the dimension and the machinist can create your own sink :)

Lathe (creating 3D objects)

Very interesting, I've bookmarked it and will definitely look into it more :) +1

Stupid days only last 24 hours :(

I'm fixing to get some back in. I need C3's, sh-032, saik and 501b's.

Eventually, I'm hoping to have all of those in stock, cnc machined.
So far i've gotten the focus adapters taken care of, and C6's on the way.
Next up are 12mm modules cnc machined from copper for about ~$3ea instead of these normal $8.99 or $12 prices we've been seeing.

After the modules are done i'm going to start on other heat sinks.
I also thought of getting custom hosts entirely cnc machined and anodized.

But the simple drawing i've been sending to the CNC shop probably wouldn't be sufficient, i'd need some 3d renderings.

Hey, just so you know, I did do heatsinks for a while, but it's far too time consuming for me :\ I took it out of my sig a while back and haven't really been in the shop in a while. I have restricted my own heatsink making for my own lasers... I'm getting into drivers now. You'll all see a new buck driver on the market soon ^_^

Yeah, it's brutal. That's why i'm trying to switch to CNC, cause I am beginning to hate "going to the basement"
