Default Parts needed to build a laser?

Ohk so I'm looking to build my own laser at some point and I'm just trying to get some information on what I need to do this. What are ALL of the parts that I need to build a laser from scratch?

Default Re: Parts needed to build a laser?

Host
Power source
Driver
diode
Heatsink (if its going to be more than a few mW)
module to put diode in (unless you use a direct press heatsink)

*edit* forgot a lens, but one will come with an aixiz module if that's what's used.

qumefox posted a good basic list of what you need but also you need to make a decision on what type of laser your going to build and then you can more effectivley choose the components you will need for your build.

And of course get the approriate googles for the type of laser your building.

Cant forget about the lens! I would hit up Jayrob if you make a 405 or 445 for one of his Lens mods
