Look up a 'SpitzSTP" on PhotonLexicon. He is VERY active in the Planetarium Projector world, and can probably give you some great info, and maybe even some parts...

Plus he's a very cool dude too...

Lol, What do you need a server for?

I used it as part of a render farm for a while just playing around, but while it was badass for 1998, (16x MIPS R14k 400mhz') Now days, it made a better heater than anything else (ran off a 220v 40A circuit and *needed* it.) I finally ended up parting it out and just keeping the rack/skins. It still looks the same externally from the front but with the stuff that lives in the rack now, it's processing power has increased tenfold and its power usage has probably decreased by the same amount.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. I'll certainly shoot him a PM there.. I actually just got off the phone with my contact at the scrap place and described to him some of the more major parts that are missing, like the starball, various covers, etc so hopefully he'll find more of it. I also found out which university it came from, so worse comes to worse, I'll call them and talk to whoever manages their planetarium and see if the major missing pieces even went to scrap with the rest of it or if someone there kept them.

At first glance I thought you mounted a grenade launcher on your El Camino

Put it in your yard with a fence around it, and danger/warning signs posted everywhere. Aim a webcam at it and chage internet viewers to watch people drive by, turn around and drive by again, then stop to try to figure out which planet that you are trying to annhilate! :)

Heh.. Well, unfortunately, it looks like what I currently have of it, is all i'll ever have. I was kind of contemplating attempting a restore, but with the starball and other major pieces missing, that's not going to happen. I don't have that kind of budget.
