Simply turn the lens when it's on, to change it's focus.
The best focal point will always produce a small line though, and not a dot, that's just the way 445nm diodes are constructed.

No, it's supposed to be a thin bar, not a dot.

Just turn this part:
Or maybe it looks like this:
That last part that's cut so it can be gripped nicely, just twist that while your laser is on and observe how the focus changes.
