Hey guys im new here :p

So i got a my first laser today, the "American DJ Micro Galaxian"
When i got home i turn off all the lights in my house,it was 10pm too so it was dark.Turned it on but i couldn't see the actual beams? just the lasers hitting the wall :cryyy:

But on the box there is pictures of it showing loads of beams even without fog or anything?
Even in this video you can see many beams....
American DJ Micro Galaxian - YouTube

Isn't that false advertising? I have no option of selecting that mode either...
Look at these pictures

Should i return it and get another one? If so what one?

Im looking for one with very visible beams even without fog.

Green Laser: 30mW (532nm) Green laser OK...but with 200 beams 30 / 200 = 0.15 mW per beam

No wonder you won't see much

Howdy and welcome... just keep the unit enjoy it until you've upgraded. Light some incense and enjoy the show and realize that a least your being safe.

For beams you need smoke .. or the laser will be dangerous to use without goggles, which would prevent you to see the beams.

Yea there is just no way that unit is putting out enough light to give you good resolution of those beams in air. Each of those <100mw beams is getting split so many times. You've gotta remember that these things, at least the commercial ones, need to be safe enough to actually put on a show in public. I'm not sure what it would take to get a no-smoke beam, but even if that limit is only 5mw (which it isnt) you would need over 1W at the source and this just isn't close. You miiiiiight be able to frankestein something together but I bet it would be a beast of a project and you might be likely to blast a hole in your ceiling!

Most of them probably do that. In other words, only small percentage of companies is fair in this business. That's why you have this forum, after all.

I mean of course they are going to make it look as awesome as they can. It isn't false advertising unless the product absolutely cannot perform like that. There is definitely smoke or mist in that photo, so I bet if you took that thing out on a foggy night you would see exactly what you expected.
