You're giving me second thought about back surgery. :undecided:

I will be honest - SOME people (although I have yet to have ever met any) have great success with back surgery. When I had my first one, everything started to go south from there. I was constantly running into people at least 20 years my senior that were saying, "Oh - I've had 12 back surgeries now, you'll recover just fine !" THAT scared me ! Well - I refuse to have any further surgeries after the last "adventure" I had - I am in worse shape now, than when I first started having problems with my back, after falling from my roof, while trimming trees after a hurricane in Florida. IF there is any way to possibly avoid surgery - I reccommend that you take that route instead. Not everyone will have failures with their surgeries, but had I known which route mine were going to take - there is no way I would have consented to begin with !!!

I'm running out of options. I really need to get back to work and my life where it left off.

I have a good doctor. He told me flat out it was 50/50 at best that surgery will help. Right now I'm dealing with the pain, but after 6-7 years its wearing me down. I lost 80% of my original strength, along with cars, boat, camper, house, and the rest of my life. If the surgery screws me up major, I might just suck a bullet.

Well, I have been dealing with my pain for a bit longer than you have yours - although each person's pain is different, I gather our situations are similiar. It's too bad you feel like you do, and I won't go into the myriad of reasons why not to follow through with your thoughts, as I am scarcely qualified as a counselor. You SHOULD talk to your doctor before undergoing the surgery though, and let him/her know your thoughts - pain is depressive, and can change everything in our lives - you are only scratching the surface of yours I am sure. Anyways - best of luck to you with your treatment - you may have been quoted only a 50-50 chance of receovery, but I waas given a 90-10 prognosis, and although mine failed rather spectacularly, there are those in a 10-90 situation that have come through just fine. Good luck to you, again - there is help out there for you if you ask for it from someone QUALIFIED in mental health issues. Me ? Nope. I am not qualified, nor do I believe in mental illness. I DO believe in depression, but I also believe that everything in life is made up of choices - either you choose to be depressed, or you shoose not to be. And regardless of the "proof" and the "facts" of the mental health "sciences", I still have my views, however warped they may appear to be for anyone outside of my head :)

Anyway, back to the subject at hand - the new banners will debut today ! WOOO-HOOO ! I'm pumped, for sure !

Hey Greg! I noticed that there's the new banner on your site but why isn't it animated?

The one in post #246 is this one:
http://stonetek.org/BannerZ/Wolfhunter9154.gif (764083 bytes)

The one on the site (StoneTek Electronics, Your Laser Parts Store) is this one:
http://stonetek.org/shop/includes/templates/template_default/images/Logo_.png (11056 bytes)

Looks like that PNG file was made from one frame (layer) of the GIF.

Also, hey Greg, notice how your text navigation links are overlapping your new banner.

Greg if you want to use the still image you could use a high quality one from the flash version but it will take longer to load.

I'll tell you why ! Because I am an idiot ! I cannot find where to edit the path that points to the banners in my zen-cart software... still searching at present ! If anyone who uses Zen happens to know where I should put it (damn...that is toooo easy, folks, don't even try it ! hahahaha) PLEASE inform me ! I'm having issues with getting Jay's banners working, too....it's GOTTA be operator error...I just gotta figure out what I am doing wrong.

Congrats to the winners! Good to see you're safe and sound, Greg (I haven't had the chance to check the thread until now, been inundated with midterms).
