need some laser masters for alittle info

Hi everyone,

I am new to the laser world so forgive my lack of knowledge.
i have a ultraviolet 100mw laser that i would like to try and figure out how to modify it. also i really am interested in creating my own high powered laser. would like a 1w laser

Would somebody be able to explain to me the basics? like what is the parts makeup in making a laser? i can figure out where to buy them but just need a general concept of the subject so i know where to start in my research

Basically you can't modify it to be 1W. You need completely new laser - hence the link ..
