I ordered a light saber and light saber adapter (along with a laser) from Sanwu. When the package arrived the light saber was missing and there was nothing in the package explaining. I emailed Sanwu and they replied

"We're sorry but the 17.3in/44cm long lightsaber attachment is temporarily unavailable(the one you ordered).

We are waiting a new batch to come. The shorter 3in/33cm lightsaber attachment is available and ready to be ship if you don't care about the length of the lightsaber."

I also ordered the three color set of lasers along with the light saber attachment a couple of days later and am awaiting shipping notice. Wondering about why the 7w Striker arrived so quickly while the three set of much smaller lasers has had such a delay.

I have been to multiple cosplay sites where there are detailed reviews of light sabers and several DIY pages to build your own light saber. The thing is the cosplay sites seem to favor using colored LEDs on their light sabers instead of lasers. So I am not sure if it is safe to DIY a light saber to use with a laser.

Bottom line is should I wait for the Sanwu light saber to be in stock and shipped or should I build one myself.

Did Sanwu give a time estimate on the light saber attachment?
I don't know why the need for a 7W light saber either since the beam is contained in the rod. I would think a didoe at 100mw would be fine used carefully.
As far as the 3 set of 301's and 303's the only thing I can think of is I believe he bins the 532 green ones to make sure they are close to the advertised 100mw and is waiting for a good batch. I could be wrong??

No time estimate from Sanwu.

I read a couple of threads here where folks said it was worth the twenty bucks to get the light saber and I had already ordered the 7W Striker so I had emailed them about combining shipping and figured I would use it on smaller stuff. Agree that 7Ws is overkill for a light saber.
