Need help choosing a laser!

well i know a few people have had their laser taken by customs using EMS. what would you rather, the laser get there, but it takes 2 weeks or so to get there, OR a nice box with a note from customs saying the confiscated your laser? If you use EMS, it could possibly be the latter! I dunno if it happens to everyone, but i would avoid it.

hm. why would EMS be different with customs than anything else? and does it make a difference that i'm buying other things with it?

Ok so, on the 11th, I placed an order with DealExtreme. I bought 4 things. the 90mw Flashlight-Style laser SKU:9311, rechargeable CR123 3V batteries SKU:4419, CR123 battery charger SKU:1236, and a red laser/led/pen thingy SKU:6078

anyways, they apparently did not have the 90mW in stock when i ordered (despite the fact that it said in stock) so they partial shipped the order. i received everything but the laser 2 days ago. (20 days after I placed my order). about a week before that, the status of the 90mW went from "Waiting for supplier" to "packaging", "packaged" and now "waiting for shipment shortly" this got me really excited. however the day I received the other stuff, I also received an e-mail from DealExtreme. It basically said I'm not getting the laser. I can either pick something else of equal value, or cancel the order. Well, now I'm really confused...I thought it was "ready for shipment shortly"...

naturally, I'm getting really sick of all this waiting. one of the reasons of my purchasing a laser was for my astronomy class...at this rate the class will be done before I get one. So now I've decided to just order from somewhere else. I would like to find the same style laser to use the batteries and charger I bought, otherwise I will return them. My biggest problem is finding somewhere that can even come close in price. Right now, I'm considering getting the 100mW version from Kaidomain (SKU:3899) the only problem is it's twice the price for only 10 mW more. but it would use the batteries I already have, and I would *hopefully* get it much sooner. The other one I am looking at is again a 100mW from Kaidomain (SKU:3726), but it is in a WF-502C housing rather than a WF-510B housing. the advantage of this is that it's waterproof. the disadvantage is that it takes different batteries, and I don't like the design of it as much. also it takes a 3.6V rather than a 3V, but I don't know if this effects anything.

I want to know your guy's opinions. Do you think I should get one from Kaidomain and if so which? What have people's experiences with Kaidomain been? Or does anyone know of any other laser's that would be good for me to consider? Do you think 100mW is too much for my needs or is that good?

You know its LASER for a reason e.g. Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.

if anyone could help me out that would be greately appreciated. I really want to get something ordered today. see my last post for the things i need help with. thanks a lot you guys. I really hope to get a laser soon so i can really be part of the community.

ok sorry to be so annoying but i want to order a laser at 5pm today 6 at the latest. so i really hope you guys could give your advice by then. I really would appreciate that a lot. and again sorry i'm so desperate.

I have a 50mw from kaidomain, it's weaker than my dx 30, tried to order a different laser, they sent me the wrong one, asked me to sell it then pay them what i sold it for, then they would ship the laser i wanted. Done that, then they sent the laser to the wrong person. So i got a refund. I did get a nice lenspen from them though. Recently put in a order for some random junk, just waiting to see if it comes.

The kd lasers that look similar to dx lasers are probably from the same place, so in my opinion the price hike really can not be justified, i'd say stick with dx, but it really does not help because alot of the better looking dx lasers are on backorder.

are there any other sites/lasers you could reccomend that could come close to DXs price or even KDs and are still good quality?
