Hi,

i have green laser pointer. One day they stop to work.Ir diode was dead.I replace with new IR diode from 16x DVD burner. But they wont work.I only see dimmed red light on output lens.Where is problem? In IR diode or in Nd:YAG crystal.

Actually your gain crystal is probably ND:YVO4, not ND:YAG. But regardless. It still won't work with a 780nm IR diode you find out of CD/DVD etc players. You need 808nm for the process to work.

^^^^^ The wavelenght must be the same with the old diode.

What will be if I use red laser diode form dvd burner instead IR diode.Which color will be on output of crystal.

No it won't work. You need 808nm diode for the green lasers.
