Hello all,

I lurked for a while when I was completing my home laser show, a belated thank you to all members for your knowledge and insight.

Yep, definitely used the 35mW DX labby! Nothing but good things to say about it, I managed to fall asleep with the laser show on and woke up 4 hours later and the heatsinks were just slightly warm to the touch.

I'm running it off of a regulated 6V AC/DC adapter. It can pump out 500mA at the most, but if the label on my laser (and my multimeter!) is correct, it only drains ~375mA.

375mA at 5V it'll be over 400mA at 6V, mines is around 425mA at 6.1V, where did you get your AC/DC adapter ?

Can you tell I'm doing an engineering degree in a field that involves zero electrical engineering?

I ordered all my electronic parts from Jameco.com, the selection is great, prices are great, the only thing to look out for is UPS screwing you if you try to ship internationally.
