well i went to my high school and they had some old lights that they were replacing. im talking about the long tube light w/e there called. so i took one home with me. i took one end off and, filled it with water to clean the inside. it had some sort of white paste on the inside. i used a rag and a stick and cleaned it all up so the tube was clear. i then put an incense stick inside of it to make smoke,or so it would glow.
heres the results using a 50mw green and a 10mw blu ray.

I don't think you should open fluorescent tubes/bulbs because of the mercury inside. It's sort of deadly...

Neat tho! ;D

have you guys every herd the term "mad as a hatter" ? it comes from a long time ago they used to put mercury on velvet hats to make them shiny ... the fumes kinda drove people crazy and thus the phrase ...

Dude, it's not that expensive to buy the cheaper version of the real lasersaber. I just got my lasersaber-e in the mail today. He sent me just the blade so I could make it work for my Kryton laser barrels. Works AWESOME.

Nice, but................
you won't have much fun with the glass tube,

The good news is that for around $3. you can get a 4 ft. clear plastic tube at Home Depot
Lowes or other hardware retailer that sells fluorescent tube lamps.
They are made  to cover the glass tube lights to protect from glass
breakage in open lamp fixtures.

Heres some examples..............

You may have used gloves to keep it from going through your skin. I bet you still breathed some of the airborne particals in though. I hope you washed your hands too. You wouldn't want the mercury transferring over to the food you ate or anything like that.
