Bought laser on Ebay and they tested it!!!! (65mw for the green laser!!!)

Wanted to buy diode to assemble. They say they have laws stating that licence is needed to assemble diode.

OMG, what should I do now? Wanted to get a laser badly

Hm.
What country?
That would be odd since bare laser diodes are legal to import to most countries while fully assembled portable lasers have restrictions imposed upon their import and/or use.

By the way, in American English, "bad ass" or "badass" is typically associated with a positive meaning or refers to someone who is tough or otherwise awesome. Generally I will use "badass" as a synonym for "awesome."
Example: "Wow, that guitarist is badass!"
Example: "The salt-water crocodile is one of the true badasses of the animal kingdom."
Counter-intuitive? Perhaps. But I like profanities every now and then.

Sillypore.

I think they have predicted that people will assemble themselves and therefore have this law to restrict assembly.

BTW chewing gum was banned here.

Well that is a country where they have government sponsored initiatives to try and get people to have children... very ordered there.

Still, I wish you guys hadn't reduced the number of canings from 12 to 6 on that Michael Fay vandal in 1994. That little shit deserved the full punishment.

Anyway to get around this problem?

They just passed a white paper yesterday to squeeze us with 50% new population.

I don't know if I bring the diode in, will they go test the diode?

If I bring the housing in, will they stop me? Or will there be other use of housing?

The old man who insisted on Michael Fay caning is still around.

Heard Michael Fay beat up his dad when he got back home:drool:

I have not found it anywhere in writing yet but I also recently learned Singapore regulates lasers quite heavily. They will test any laser seized at customs and return it to sender if it exceeds 5mW (along with a note sent to the original recipient)

Pretty cool in my book. Most countries will seize it and you'll never know what happened to it

Maybe we can work out a deal with their customs to buy the confiscated, pre-measured diodes and/or lasers :p

Singapore is a REAL 'FINE' country on earth. The government would love to FINE you on every little error/inconvenience caused.

:twak:
