Congratulations Styro! Wow, 10 years? That's some serious dedication. Just look at all the members who have come and gone in that time span.

Also, that is probably the most ghetto ruby laser I have ever seen. :D

Yeah.... I still have a bunch PHR803T Sleds with diodes
somewhere in the shop from way back then...

My first 405nm was a PHR803T. Put it in a dead Romisen 30mW 532 host with a Flexdrive, just drilled out the heatsink to fit an Aixiz module. Think that was my first build too.

The KES400 diodes were interesting ... 650nm and 405nm in one diode package.

I remember people grinding up the Al/Mg alloy sleds from the PHR803Ts to set them on fire. :crackup:

How times have changed eh?

To get the aluminum to ignite you must have it the consistency of dust. It will burn quite hot if you do. Magnesium is a totally different story if relatively pure. It will burn as a single piece. Great fun for youngsters. I did so as a kid many years ago.
