I think some guy has a herc peaking in the 700's. I'm not sure though.[/quote]

You don't have to answer, but how much did your Herc cost?

Yeah, but that's a Herc 500 :) last time I heard, they cost about $6000 or something. I might be wrong.

so far it looks like you have the lead. Your >500 mw green will be hard TO BEAT ! ;D ;D ;D

Aww, totally missed that I have the same model of laser? Ah well, Razako has beaten us both now.

Wait till Razako sees this thread. his rpl peaks i think was like 600mw

His RPL probably peaks at 340 or something, since the only RPL he has is an RPL-300. RPL is a certain type of laser bought from Opotronics, not a generic descriptor for hand held lasers :) The Herc is in a class of its own.

I think Razako paid something like $2500 for his herc with goggles and lasercheck (and case?) from Morepower. :-/

If 808nm counts then I have to add that I own a S-KY 808nm 1.9W portable. I can set my black rubber coaster on fire with this thing. I wish I had a 532nm that had that kind of power.

I was waiting for someone to say that ;) ;) ;)

Wikipedia says: The visible spectrum (or sometimes called the optical spectrum) is the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that is visible to (can be detected by) the human eye. Electromagnetic radiation in this range of wavelengths is called visible light or simply light. A typical human eye will respond to wavelengths in air from about 380 to 750 nm.[1]

We have to have an authority definition of visable to the human eye. What do you think Artix?

We went camping about 100 miles from the nearest city. I had my Daughter at the camp with the radio and laser. I drove about three miles up the road and had her turn it on. I could see the beautiful beam going up into the sky. 250mw 532. It seemed to hit an inversion layer I think and stop about 3000 feet up.

Yes that was a very necessary question to add ::)

ANYWAY....

If 808nm counts, there a guy here with a 4W DIY handheld. :p

Find that guy and make him post pics!!

It's bilig something something.... I can't remember now. He does have a thread with a few of his multiwatt IR builds either in the other colors or exps and mods board. But I guess 808nm doesn't count anyway.
