Who knows...I've been in this hobby too long. I haven't really spent that much on lasers though, I've only bought one laser this year for $50 and some sleds from what I remember. I've probably spent under $200 this year on laser stuff.

Wayyyy Wayyy too much. However the only lasers I actually bought this year were a used argon off ebay for $299 and my Nova X-100. Last year I got the following
blue RPL 30
RPL300
Used Hercules 400 with X10DR beam expander
Vega-5mw
3 different blu-rays. A weak 5-10mw box style, One of the famous Milos blu-rays putting out like 30mw and finally a 140mw PHR pointer.
Pulsar-125
Like 12 random dx/kaidoman lasers before importation to the US was banned.
635nm Pointer from z-bolt.
Lyra-5mw
And the Aries-35 that started it all.

Now my collection is basically complete and I haven't felt the need to buy any more so far this year. Maybe when some ultra-powerful blu-ray and 473nm pointers come out I'll get back into buying.

um.......i really don't want to say....

but paypal has a "report" function under history...i added up money spent and received since feb. of this year...it's a lot for a hobby....it's more than i make in a year.

of course i didn't actually get that money. the stuff i sell is usually about 20% profit or somewhere around there.
There is also a lot of stuff i try out, like a batch of kits that don't go as well as planned and i end up selling for cost or under. like the MXDL kits, i lost some money on.

About $2300.. if scanners count. I have probably spent about $1100 on the lasers themselves. The only ones I have not paid for myself were a couple of <1mW red ones and a WL laser I will soon post a review of. Hopefully I will also win some in the raffle.
In other words - I have spent way too much.

Total? About $900 on 4 lasers... and then some accessories, and a fog machine and goggles...

between $1500-$2000 and about 200 hours spent building/playing with them.

Probably around $1000, counting all the optics, cases, and other Do-Dad's. Nothing compared to my other hobby, collecting antique pistols.>$200K in that one. But I look at that as an investment for old age. They are only going to appreciate in value. Lasers on the other hand will become cheaper.
Around 1989 bought a <5mW 670nm pointer (still works great, by the way) I paid around $40-50 dollars for it.
In 5-6 years Blu-Ray pointers will be sold at flea markets for $1 or $2.
Of course by then, they will have something 10 times as powerful and 10 X smaller.IE:Host the size of a AAA battery, all color lines including white, chose by sliding a small switch on the body=$25 or $30
I can't wait!!

Once I finish a nice high-powered blu-ray, upgrade my old RPL-300 and finish my RGV scanner my collection will be essentially complete.

What worries me is that I wouldn't mind a 1watt RGB scanner with at least 40kpps scanning speed. And... well, that alone will double what I've spent on lasers so far... lol.
