Plus, there's the fact that lasers typically don't blind you, they just burn out tiny sections of your retina each time you're hit directly with a powerful enough beam.
Yes, but we're assuming this individual is intelligent enough to avoid directing the laser into his eye.

My opinion of the bottom line:

If it's too bright, don't look at it. If it can burn stuff, don't point it in your eye.
Knowing how to use a laser safely is the FIRST thing you need in this hobby. Goggles are secondary safety measures.

First rule of gun safety: Don't point a gun at anything you're not willing to destroy.

A similar concept applies to lasers.

okay.............i do appreciate the props on the common sense lol. the fact that i havent run out and bought a dvd drive, ripped the diode out, and ruined a perfectly good maglite should point that out....i kinda need help on selecting a driver. the amc7135 is looking to be the most common... one post says to check GB. anyone wanna fill me in on what GB is?

they happen all to often, sometimes it could happen off a window and hit you or someone else in the eye or anything really, you never know
