That all depends on what you need.
The LaserBee 3.7W USB LPM has data logging and comes
with the EaqleEye Data logging software but does not have
an on board Display. It is powered by the USB Port of your
computer.

The new 3.1W LaserBee AX for example has an on board
5 digit display but does not include Data Logging although
it can be added. It is powered by a standard 9Volt battery
making it portable.

If you dont mind a lightly used LPM (both LaserBee) then let me know and i can get you links to them. one is a LaserBee 2.5W USB and the other is a LaserBee I running on Ellipsis (Trevor is selling this one as well as servicing it down the road since Jerry wont touch it due to the changed programing which makes sense so this is not a knock on Jerry)

Like Jerry said, it all depends on what your needs are. Any LPM is going to be a good one but deciding on one is the hard part :D

Also keep in mind how powerful your lasers are. No point in buying a 3.7W if you dont have any lasers close to 3.7W or dont plan on getting one anytime soon.

Any well taken care of Used LaserBee LPM is also a good choice
if you don't want a new product or finances are tight.

But I would stay far far away from the 1W LaserBee I that Trevor
is trying to sell. It is no longer a LaserBee I since it was tampered
with and could very well have a defective ADC since I was just
made aware by Trevor that his LaserBee I exhibits jitter in the
readings.
A New LaserBee does not exhibit stable reading jitter.

That 1W LaserBee I also has a burnt Thermopile according to
Trevor and the LPM hasn't been calibrated in 4 years.

That's just a heads up to new members. If you want to buy it
then go for it but we will not service it under any circumstances.:cryyy:

I'm going to recalibrate it soon, against a NIST-traceable LPM. :)

Well i will need a 3w lpm because i will make a 3w laser sometime soon and and i dont care bout response so i will either get the 3.7w usb lpm or the 3.1w laserbee AX model now i just need to decide if the extra 500mw will matter.

Go for the AX, IMO.

You can add data logging to the AX easily for under 20$, it's hard to add a screen to the 3.7W USB.
Also I think the case on the 3.7W is rather ugly.

Edit: If you have a bit more to spend, go the DIY route with an Ophir head.

As I said, datalogging can be added to the 3.1W for around 20$ if you DIY it :p
Can't easily add a screen to the 3.7W.
Also, if you're using (or plan to use) Windows 7, don't go with the 3.7W as the software is buggy and crashes all the time in Windows 7.
