agreed .
i think 90% of people comming here looking for burning laser :) i understand that .we used to see this stuff in movies when we were kids , i think this fascinates people . i also bought 30mw green laser a long long time ago , and i was pretty amazed by the beam at night .
unfortunately lasers are dangerous .

Yeah, it's a bit of a shame! I got my first green ebay pointer in 2003 and have loved lasers since. I can understand where you're coming from, I wish you luck with your patent. I hope this thread is something you can use to get started.

Looks like he's installing a wireless camera where perhaps
he shouldn't...

Jerry

That is EXACTLY what I thought.
Why else would you want to charge a small device that is far from a place where you can access it without anyone knowing?

ummm I think the whole patent thing was BS/ hypothetical. I'm pretty sure that he's either powering a security camera or a listening device.

meh. He could also be trying to power a wireless repeater. Perhaps the only place it gets a reasonable signal to repeat is up a tree somewhere.

I still think the easiest thing to do would be to use a sufficiently powerful battery.

i know it can be done i played around with a solar panel and a fan after reading this and it was kinda fun.
Did not measure the power but could be a fun idea to charge an rc plane or heli as it flys.
setup a moving head charger station so it tracks it as it flys and keeps the beam on target.
But thats the only fun use i could think of.

this ^
especialy since he came up with the word fetish...
if thats is the case i hope that op wil be blinded by his own "invention"

you can get a pattent if you have an idea on paper.
meaning other people can not steal your idea.
besides like others have mentioned before, there are more practical ways of powering an object.
your "invention" is inpractical and dangerous, and thus wil not hit the market. except for perhaps powering a small camera your idea seems useles.

just my 0.2€
