Nah, i seriously doubt it could be.

Either the power is wrong, the wavelength is wrong, or both.

The pictures they show are clearly from a multimode output diode, but some of them are blue, like 455 nm or something around there.

For the $31 price i'd order it just because i'm curious what actually shows up, but they do not ship to the netherlands so i cannot give it a test.

The actual product images show different type of laser diodes as well, but it looks like it's a direct-diode type and not a 532 nm dpss for sure. If it were actually 520 nm non-dpss i'd still buy it for the diode, but i somehow suspect a badly built 445 nm laser will show up at best, with one of the early projector diodes in it (A140/M140 or something).

As for positive feedback: people may be impressed for what $30 buys them, but that doesn't mean it's up to spec. I'd be happy to get half watt multimode 520 nm for that money, and if it's actually a 1 watt 532 nm dpss i'll gladly have an entire shipping container of them at that price point :D

Well, I am going to get this just to see what it actually is. The seller has great reputation but I still think it might not be as described. I dont know how I would test the power without a LPM though

Well, alright, thanks. I'll probably look elsewhere then.

Jetlasers and Sanwu sell high quality lasers, but they can be a bit pricey. If you just want a cheap 532nm an ebay one should be okay, I got one for 8$ and it has works fine so far. You could also buy or build something from survival lasers or a forum member.

Anything over 100 mW in green is going to cost you a lot more money than that. All the direct diode lasers in green are more expensive just for the diode than that laser is. Personally, I think those Gatlin host lasers are all crap. They look cool in photos, but have little mass and so can't handle much power. The are much smaller than you may think.

Interesting. What IS a certified seller on eBay? Last time I looked, anyone can claim anything on there and try to sell it. Might even get away with many sales as the people who would buy these over hyped things don't know the difference and as long as it works, they're happy.

Yea I got one of those! Nothing special. I have yet to meter it but around 100mw is prolly about right. I've brought it camping a few times.. but it mostly just sits in my drawer

Does that mean you will be moving back over here soon? I remember being in Lexington, KY and how happy I was to put it in my rear view mirror forever. Good luck, buddy....and have a Happy New Year. :yh:

Well, certified in the sense that customers actually receive goods and mark them as such, potentially leaving feedback.

And you will probably get 'something that produces a beam of light' for your $30, perhaps many people are happy with what they got for their money... i'd be if i got a -stable- 532 that only did 100 mW but without mode hopping and huge power variations depending on temperature.

I'm still curious what it actually is the ship out though... but it seems to be gone entirely now.

Someone could have ordered something that looked identical but got a different product, sometimes they just copy photos from other listings, which could be the case here since i see pictures of green and blue beams in the same listing... bit of mix and match?
