I think my lens on my LEDShoppe 50mW is dirty and I'm not to sure how to clean it. Does the cap come off because it doesn't look like I could fit anything down there with the cap on. And what should I use to clean it?

I have the EXACT same issue. Any help would be nice.

I was about to get some pliers and twist the cap off forcefully, but now that this thread is made, I'll give it a chance.

Try blowing it off with canned air. DO NOT stick the tube into the hole against the lens to do it. Just blow into the hole from outside. If the "dirt" isn't "sticky" it should help.

This is my problem, I've tried canned air. Thank you for the recommendation though, as it may help OP.

Well there was a post a while ago about someone who took a Dremel buffing wheel to his laser's lens!

dON'T DO THAT (sTUPID cAPS lOCK!)

Try the air thing again. If the lens has a coating on it you might smudge it by using Q-tips.

You can get canned air at any computer or electronics store and many department stores.  It is what is used to "blow the dust and dirt out of/off of electronic circuits (and complex rocks).

Just google "canned air"

If the "dirt" won't just blow off then you have to move on to more dangerous methods.  If you can get the aperture cap off, try a lens pen.  If you cannot get the aperture cap off, you are going to have to find something thin and soft to put through the aperture.  You should also figure out what is getting to/on your lens.  They sit down inside the tube to protect them.  Getting "stuff" on the lens is not "easy" ;)

Peace,
