Lazerer selling a 500mW 405nm

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet but it looks like lazerer is selling a new 405nm Lazer. Up until now the most powerful 405nm lazerer sold was 400mW. They are now offering a 500mW 405nm in the rifle host (fucking awesome!!).

The lense set should be interesting on glow in the dark stuff. Are Lazerer goggles sufficient?

I'm considering buying this laser during this month. I like the rifle hosts but are they even focusable? I'm not really wild about a laser that I can't focus myself. My DL HULK 100 Isn't focusable but that is a CNI made laser that is extremely well focused from the factory. I don't have any experience with non-focusable lasers from Lazerer. So can anyone say wether the rifle is focusable and if not how is the focus on them?

I saw this yesterday and was planing to buy it as my next laser, after I get the one I ordered (1.2w cyber) Its a steal for that price.

It is a great deal I just don't know if this is focusable. Any idea?

That's not bad at all for what it is... then again you could build one for a little less and have it pushing 500mw - 900mw if you are lucky that is... :beer:

I was thinking the same thing because I was actually going to buy a 405 diode from DTR and make it in to another of my desk top lasers but I also like having a portable hand held version of my lasers, if you look at my signature you can see that I have a lab and a hand held version of most of my lasers. Now all I want is this 405 from lazerer, a 405 diode from DTR and then I will start my 40 Watt Co2 build .

When you take in to account the following production costs the price of this laser isn't bad at all.

The diode
The host
The driver
The heat sink
The lens
The labor costs (Not high in china)
Shipping

$160 for all of that is a pretty damn good deal for a 500+mW 405 that is completely assembled. errrrrr I just spent around $450 on several new lasers so it would be very wrong of me to buy this laser right now....... I can afford it but I know I shouldn't. :undecided: Maybe in a week or two so the GF doesn't notice 5 packages coming in one week all containing lasers hehe.

Yeah I have a few extra hosts laying around so building a 405 is my next build. Since I already have a host + heatsink all I need is another 18650($12) plus one of dtr's 700ma 405 modules($125). A 405 for $137 is too good to be true!

yes these and all other Rifle series lasers from Lazerer are focusable.
I was thinking of buying this and the 638 from their site, but I have no money atm.
As soon as I do get the cash, I will buy both and do reviews of them.
