lazer not burning

hi all
i have harvested some lazer diods from dvd drives and all leds are glowing well but they are not burning any thing i dont know why maybe its a mistake from me of the leds are not burning one i will post some pics if i could and please i wont somebody to help me in this thing knowing that the last diod i have used was for samsung super writemaster r/w 22x

More than likely you either A have the wrong wires connected to power the burning side not reading side and B the laser would be focused to burn only very very close to the lens if you have got the right power leads you would need a lens of some sort to focus the laser further out rather hard to get something to burn if you have to hold it 1 mm or so from the lens

hi all
thanks for the reply and for your help
no i have connected the wires as usual there are the dvd wire and the cd wire
when i connect the cd wire i get a very poor light and when i connect the dvd wire i get a huge amount of light going out of the led
and i tryied to burn any thing from the near and from the far but i wodent burn any thing nor it has a temperature i mean the light, its working like a simple lazer pointer i don't know what is the mistake
i cant upload any pics i dont know why it gives me a massage (upload error )
never mind i will try to reserch for the mistake on the forum

You should upload the images to some other server, like imageshack.us, and then just link them here.

Sounds like the wires are connected incorrectly, and it's not giving its strongest output.
