Yes they are, and I want to be able to light a match and see it at night. and a bit in the day

Hey Jeremy,

Everything said by the others is very accurate and great

But I must say, you WILL NOT see the beam of a 100mW 532nm during the day.

Heck, I can barely see the beam of the 500mW PL-E PRO.

neither will have a visible beam during the day...

Green :
you may be lucky to see a faint beam indoors during the day if you have a dusty environment
100mW green focused should light a match and will be VERY visible at night

Red:
200mW red will light a match, and the beam will be visible at night but absolutely nothing like the green. the green will be impressive, the red will not

The only visible beams I've seen outside in the sunlight was the dual/triple diode lasers I've made
