If you've already searched the forum, than the cheapest LPM is one you already know about. There isn't much of a market for them, so they aren't going to be very cheap.

You'll be looking at at least $100, unless you DIY one. The problem with DIY LPM's is you have to send them off to someone else with a proper meter to calibrate it for you.

Uhh, you'd be looking at at least $800 for that, if not $2000. Look up the "laserbee" LPM, he has some in your price range.

shouldnt those be cheaper because it does not have a meter it needs a pc to operate?

Thanks for stepping in Things... I haven't been around for a bit.;)

As things has stated the least expensive and uncalibrated LPMs are
the ones you build yourself... You will need to calibrated it with a
know accurate LPM before you get near accurate readings.
Here's a list...

Eligible LPF members can get a 10-15% Discount Refund on selected

No, it's a professional meter. You couldn't even buy a USB cable from Ophir for $200.

On the average for a commercial NIST traceable LPM
you are looking at ~ 1000.00 for a Thermopile Head
and another ~1000.00 for a calibrated electronic interface
to hook to computer or a calibrated Meter with on board
display.

To get exact prices just call the sales offices of a company
like OPHIR or Coherent... I did.
