so i'm new to this forum obviously, had laser pointers since i was a youngen, been fascinated with them ever since, but i want to start making my own as a hobby (I understand the hazard they present and how careful they must be handled, so i dont need the "you'll shoot your eye out, kid" speech)..
but like any other subject, everything has its complexity and knowledge behind the basics of the way something works, this being one of those things with a complex anatomy and engineering. And this being a legit looking forum, seeing the amount of people building lasers, I thought this would be the place to learn about it.
if anyone can point me in the direction of a dictionary or something describing diodes, hosts, the difference between the effects of different colors of lasers, mW's... etc
basically a breakdown of anatomies what what part does, lingo, and everything.. and if not? well bam.. I now created a good thread which starts here
