Default Laser Healing...?

I tried using my 50mW greenie on an injury of mine. What I did was apply the laser all over the injury at a distance of about <1cm. It seems to have healed fast, compared to a similar (but smaller) injury on my hand, which has a noticeable scar. The injury has almost no traces, only a slightly darker patch of skin where the injury was.

Cool...

Does it only work under 405nm? Can I use a DVD laser for the same thing?

This is sci-fi technology, people.

Also: I didn't have an open wound - just a scrape. And I did it almost every day for a week.

It works better with red...
For scars or pimples, just unfocus it and shine it on the wound for 10 seconds everyday.

Actually this has been discussed by someone with some experience in the field.
http://www.laserpointerforums.com/fo...=1213060192/20

In conclusion, don't shine highpowered lasers at wounds or infections unless you really know what you're doing. :P Even without any studies it seems pretty logical that it's a bad idea.If it can stimulate skin cells , it can stimulate bacteria and if it can kill bacteria, it can kill skin tissue, blood cells....So you REALLY have to know the precise effects of power, exposure time and wavelength on various cells and bacteria to get the desired effect. :P

I think it's best you have a doctor do it. :P If you're looking for cautery, yes it will hurt somewhat, cause you're looking to burn yourself.

My fiancee had a paper cut and it wouldnt stop bleeding. so i pulled out my BR (cauterizing laser!!!), some goggles, asked her to look away and focused the beam down to a tight spot and sweeped it across the cut a few times. the bleeding stopped imeaditly. she thought it was so cool and finially said my laser was good for something! lol
