So was browsing ebay and found this:300mW 650nm Red High Power Burn Laser Diode Module DIY Kit with Heat Sink | eBay

I own multiple lasers myself, but have never actually built my own, and I was wondering if this would be a good start for me.

It depends if you want to make a Labby or a handheld. You can source the parts
allot cheaper than that anyway The diode and aixiz module would only cost less than $15

You can get a diode HERE

you can find a cheap 5mw laser in a module for a few $$ on Fleabay, just push out that diode and press in your new one, you can get a driver from the pro sales section

the same for the host too
