That's about average for a lower power application of them. They can hit 250+ if he wanted to push it.

I already know what I'm building next, and I'm very proud of my E2 pen build.

I finished a PL450B pen build similar to SP's, but I made a very different choice than most people. Unfortunately I am not getting the power I think I should be getting with 2x AAA batteries, I am hoping the Li-Ion 10440 Batts I have on the way will be effective in allowing the diode to sustain ~175mW, rather than having it fall to ~100mW.

10180 Li-Ion's only have a current capacity of 60-90mAh, so you would be looking at a really weak laser if that was your power source.

 I was hoping it would be higher :( Hmm my tiny RC lipos put out 150ma and 240ma might have to look into those.

Appreciate the info Issac

K, voted and part of me hated picking. There's so much nice stuff here that what I ultimately went with was what unit I would most like to have in my collection. Would throw out that I love seeing all the "different" ingenious things to stuff a module into.
Voted for Styropyro which shouldn't come as much of a surprise for those who have seen some of what I've done. Big fan of the pen style units as they tend to be discrete and have a wow factor that big units have a hard time competing against. Expect a big unit to be powerful but I find that all it takes to shock someone is a cheap 532nm as most "normal" people have never even seen one.
This build is small, elegant and has a decent WOW factor.

Would you like to tell us who you voted for and why? There's not much point of keeping it anonymous :p

Ok, so it came down to styropyro, bdgreenb and grainde. I love the pl450's so that cut out bdgreenb. I honestly love styropyro's host and the beam looks incredible but that mirror polish on grainde's host just took the cake.. That is how my Mrs explains it. Sort of. Lol
