I would stay away from priceangels they don't have good rep here. Budget gadgets will probably be closer to spec around 150mw but I still don't recommend them there product are not high quality and they have been known to send broken lasers. If you are willing to spend 35 dollars more this laser http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/fs-tiny-650nm-275mw-red-laser-very-small-64059.html will be upto spec and high quality. I hope you are planing on buying some safety goggles. I also hope this isn't your first laser. my first was a 5mw green then a 10mw 405nm then a 30mw 100mw 405nm laser and after that I started building or buying some real deal high powered lasers.

I second blakegriffins opinion and would buy a laser from here instead of cheap chinese crap.
The people here on the forum make highquality lasers at reasonable prices..
But if you would like to spend only $40 then you can't get an 250mW highquality laser. Neither here nor on chinese junk sites (because their lasers are underspec you know?)
So the decision is at you...it's your hard earned money

There is no doubt that the lasers on this forum are a lot better, but they are also a bit more expensive in some cases (or cheaper in others).

Here are some other companies to consider, in order of personal preference and current reputation on the forum: lazerer.com, o-like.com, rayfoss.com.

Personally I'd go with lazerer.com... or buy one off of the forum here for a bit more.

I remember seeing a very nice red laser for $70 not long ago. The mini is also a phenomenal laser (I have one too) but I would not recommend it as a first laser because you do have to be mindful of the duty cycle (how long you keep it on).

Whatever you decide, please do yourself a favor, get good safety goggles. One accidental reflection and you can have blindspots for the rest of your life... not worth the risk.
