has anyone heard of these, does anyone know if/how they work? if I used one as a shutter what would happen when the shutter is closed? could it contain a beam? also what happens to the light that doesnt escape does it reflect back in to the cavity or would it be absorbed as heat?

I have two of these that I am going to be selling soon, they are filled with benzene I think and work like a liquid crystal display works, thru polarization. As far as heat absorbtion, It is a clear liquid and any heat absorbed would be small.
They use high voltage to (i think) circularize the polarization.
I estimate they hold about 6 ounces of fluid. I will post pictures later on today.

Mine are tested and worked. I got them from Dan Lauritsen, a person who I wish I spent more time with. R.I.P.
