Interesting things?

Any interesting things going on right now? Ie. new discoveries, inventions, etc...

I dug around and couldn't find anything, but maybe i'm not looking hard enough.

How about a random wavelength ZnO laser diode?

It's a little over my head, but I believe the summation for Hobbyist's are, one day there might be one of these on our B/S/T section.
These first prototypes have the undesired effect, (for them anyway, for us, The Laser Geeks, it would rock our world) of emitting random wavelength's.
Turn your laser on and it emits random wavelength's from 300nm-700nm.↓↓↓
Not in the article, this was about the only other thing I could fine out about this diode. Might not even have been the same one/type, but it was a ZnO, very similar.
Even though this is a defect, I am sure if a company wanted them built to those specifications, it would be no problem. A step back for the manufacturer!
Something else for us to keep an eye on.:drool:
