I usually take 1-4 paintings per a night trip including test shots. It takes time to prepare stuff, get to place, get all stuff ready, find composition, make it safe and painting. In addition my camera process it about 10 - 15 minutes every shot, so considering I've to wake up in the morning for my job during week, not much time for many shots. Anyway this friday I've had very nice composition, but the rain and strong wind came, so it was fast escape before I took any usable photo. I just got rain in camera lens during the exposure, so no way... But I will return and maybe with my new 473 nm laser as I've found great use of it in this artwork.

Great artworks, keep them coming. I'm affraid I cannot rep you yet - some spreading is needed. I do not see these disturbing in your art as I perceive it as part of it showing various optics and its behaviour. I just have a different approach. And regarding post production - I agree - great source of information as you can learn from mistakes and do it better. I do it the same way, sometimes I just realize the pic I took is crap and I need to get it better - usually when something goes wrong - like too much/or too little light in some areas, dirt on lens or sensor etc. Well, regarding dust it is always there, just if it is too much I have to do something with it, but in reasonable level I consider it as a part of real digital photo. All this takes some time, but the final artwork is worth every second spent.

I used to set up all of my stuff in my garage , including black curtains every Thursday and Friday, and photograph for a few hours Friday night and have to take everything apart and put it away (which would take an hour) since I (and the wifey) needed my garage on the weekends. So I got to photograph lasers once a week. When we sold our townhouse and bought another house, one stipulation was for me to get room dedicated to my photography. Not only did I get my room but half of a finished basement which is my man cave. Mostly anything I need while photographing is within 20 feet. Now that whatever I have set up in my room can stay for as long as I want it to explore. I usually photograph 4 days a week totaling 100-150 shots depending. And on Saturday morning I do all of my computer work, such as minor photo editing , the "Photobucket" thing preparing 25 shots or so in the language that is needed to post, my Flickr page , and getting them onto my hard drives and ipad. Thats about 3 hours every Saturday. I am able to explore photographing lasers, analyze what I have photographed in detail and tweak camera settings, mirror and glass placement, etc and work on an idea for weeks at a time if need be. Last night, after analyzing what I had photographed in the previous week, I repositioned all of the glassware, switched out lasers, and added some mirrors and diffraction gratings, but did not turn on my camera . All of the lasers, slinky, glassware are positioned perfectly. All I have to do when I get home from work all I have to do is turn of the fog machine and some lasers and I am photographing within 5 minutes.
Anyway here are a few pics of the flourescent tube thing and what I just starting working on now, the Slinky and piece of screen.

^Interesting info. Thanks for posting this. It reminds me of my 593.5nm penlaser which works the best after the host gets warm to the touch. While cold it modehops, stops lasing entirely and generally works like crap.first to the OP-- Bowtieguy is about to get one & will do a complete review..
when the 1st Jetlasers 473 pro-ple lasers were offered they were underspec UNTIL completely warmed up- which took a lot of time-& the host was quite warm-- so in light of that-- looks like a long duty cycle needs to happen to get full power- kinda a conflict IMO..(BTW its 'Jetlasers'-not Jet laser)
