Default Inexpensive lasers with IR filter?

I got a green laser in the mail yesterday (eBay special) and while I can see it in late night skies with average light pollution, I'm looking for something I can clearly see the beam a little earlier.

The problem with that is a lot of these powerful lasers come with no IR filter. It seems the ones that do have IR filters cost a lot more.

I am looking for the least expensive laser that will provide an easily visible beam during the early night onward.

If you do not want to link to a laser, can you provide me with the average price for green and blue/violet lasers?

I am somewhat more interested in blue/violet because I don't want my 2nd laser to be the same color as the first -- I like some variety.

You know, I thought I would be happy with one laser, but I really like my new toy.

There are many different 532nm lasers available out there. Costing from $15-1500 the choices are vast.
There is a higher price for IR filtered green lasers, I would think because the filter is housed withing the unit and perhaps a good quality filter with smaller percentages of loss.
I might suggest that you find the most powerful non-IR filtered laser that you are willing to afford and then purchase a cheap IR filter and attach it to the laser yourself. If IR filtering is your goal this is a DIY solution.

- LMAO - That's how things start. Next thing you know you have 10+ lasers and want more.

Since you're going to use the laser outside... There is really no need to worry about IR. The danger from IR comes when people try to use their green lasers for burning, or shine them indiscriminately all over the place at home.

You may also want to consider getting goggles that also block IR: Eagle PairŪ 190-540nm & 900-1700nm Laser Safety Goggles

If IR does worry you, 532 with Envy already gave the least expensive option.
