I need help deciding

Hallo, I put this in the general forum because this concerns two wavelengths, so this was the logical choice for me. I have worked very hard the last time in school, and came in the Top Ten(academically) of our grade So my father said that if I become the number one he will buy me a diode of my choice, including all the extras including the host, batteries, chargers, etc. I wondering if anyone can help me decide which diode to buy between the Mitsubishi 500mW 638 Diode and the 12X S06J Bluray Diode. Can you give me the common advantages and disadvantages of the two like divergence, beam specs, ease of use in a build, power that I can squeeze out of them, etc... Now I know that the 405nm will burn like hell but will the Mits look cooler? And is the Mits. beam really that bad? I found some info on the Mits but not on the 405nm. Is the 405nm diode single mode? 405 is single mode ...and have great specs. In my opinion the Mits diodes are for enthusiasts because the beam specs ...and artifacts are horrible ...and are really only good for the collectibility.
