People driving into stationary cars should be declared legally insane on the spot!

I'm sorry your car got beat up like that, but on the other hand, i suppose you are lucky - 1 metre closer to the middle of the car and you would probably have been injured. I hope its just some insurance matter that works out!

Jake I do beleive that you can sue her for the entire bill plus any extra like court costs if you were here in Kansas. I'll be willing to bet you still have that option in Ky. I' not sure but your insurance company may even handle the suit for you.
Too bad about the awesome ride man let us know how it turns out though.

yeah she's my baby... it sucks tho, but it will get resolved, and if not i'll go down to china wok and whoops some @$$

that's mostly a $4000 damage, man!

The worst part is that the car, will "look" the same, but will never be the same again, due the bend of hidden chassis, the damage of some external zinc veins, and some internal aluminium structures.

Yeah, I agree this stuff adds up real fast. I wouldn't be surprised at around 4 to 5K or more.
Buy the way if she desides not to pay after small claims court you can request the judge to issue a bench warrant for her arrest. That got the attention of the "dead beat" I sued over a case just like this to get me a check in the mail 2 days after he told me to drop dead!

But shyt always seem to happen.

a while ago some idiot drove into my car while it was parked and didnt even left a note or somthing just drove off and never heard anything from him/her again.
mine got hit at about the same place as yours.
I still have to get it fixed, last fix i that got done on it costed me 1100€ ( total of 2600€ total untill now ) :( still got to get a new bumper/fender/side panel + paint.

worst thing was that neither the police or my insurance was of any help :(

Hope it gets resolved in a good way for you!

Here in frozen New England, it's very important to carry 'uninsured motorist' insurance. The state of New Hampshire (motto = 'Live Free or Die") has NO requirement for motorists to carry liability insurance! Technically, uninsured NH drivers are not allowed to drive out of state, but of course they do. Unfortunately, most of these uninsured motorists have no assets to claim in the event of an accident. That's why we all pay a few bucks extra each year to protect us from these irresponsible free spirits. The OP may be out of luck if the other motorist has no insurance and no assets and he has no uninsured motorist coverage. You can't get blood out of a stone. Squeezing a stone very hard may be satisfying, but in the end, unproductive. That sucks - your car is a beauty.

Wait, so if it is LAW to carry insurance, and she had none. Shouldn't the police have taken away her license on the spot since was breaking law apart from the accident?

With that being said, just because she doesn't have insurance doesn't mean you're SOL. You can take her to court and sue her civilly for your damages, although there's that old saying "you can't take blood from a stone". Just hope she works, etc and has a bank account and you should be able to recover some of your damages.

I also hate men talking on their phone, but I don't care what anyone says, 90% of women I see driving are on the phone, putting on makeup, or taking pictures
