OK...I admit that I'm addicted to watching the TV show called "House"
Flame away!:na:

Anyway...tonights show had House shining a green laser at one of the doctors. And not just at the body. He traced a circle around the doctors eye face on.

The first thing I thought of was :wtf:....one slip and it would have been a direct eye shot. I hope it was somehow a CGI animation for the sake of the actress. Who know how many takes it took to get the scene done.

This is the kind of thing that the general public will see and think, "lasers are a safe TOY"

It apeared to be low power but still.....:wtf:

Not that it will do any good, but I think I will send an email to the makers of the show.

If it makes you all warm and green inside, go ahead but odds are, they won't care. Especially since that show already aired. It would take a whole lot of people complaining to maybe keep the show from being re-aired.

If it was a 1mw or lower, there isn't any danger right?

If you go back and watch it again, as I just did, you'll notice one of two things.

Either Hugh Laurie has incredibly (read: inhumanly) steady hands, or it's CGI. Since the circle he draws around the female actress' eye is nearly perfect, my money is on CGI.

I did the same thing:) I agree. It's just too perfect of a circle to be done by hand. At least I couldn't do it.

Really, even if it was done by hand, Hugh Laurie might not have actually done it. It could have been done by machine for that matter.

It still sends the wrong message that lasers are safe toys but then again, so do a bunch of TV shows.

Glad I'm not the only one on here that watches it. :) Damned good show if you ask me.

Thanks
