I cringe just watching that. Reminds me of some idiots at my high school that once had a contest to see who could stare into a laser pointer the longest. Fortunately this was many years ago and they only had those cheap 5mW reds, but still very stupid and dangerous.

30mw may not seem like much but at arms reach, plus your eye has a strong lens and the fovea is so small, he could hurt his sight, hopefully not, but if that was a supposed 5mw purple that was really doing 75mw as some do......wow, he could really do damage.
