I wanna purchase a 200 mW + laser, but don't know if it is illegal here in Canada.

It's all good. No restrictions such as there are in the US.

... for now at least.

I have purchased quite a few laser, and never had any problems here in Montreal.

If it's FDA approved, then you should have no problem at all. And you shouldn't have any for other pointers.

They are allowed in Canada. (I am in Toronto)

Just be careful in the public. NEVER point it at people/planes/vehicles.

I've never had a problem with any laser order either. I'm in London, Ontario. I've ordered finished lasers and components with no problem. Canada does have laser laws that kick in at the 1mW level, but so far there has been no rash of incidents to cause a government crackdown.

I have ordered several lasers from DX with no customs issues whatsoever. I got a true 50mW green, a green 200mW baton, and a red dilda 200mW. Don't expect 200mW from that pen ...

EDIT: Oh, and one last TEEEENSY little thing...

I was looking for something around 100-200mw, I would like to mount one to my tactical rifle.
$200 would be my price range.

Thanks

Who cares? No one should tell you what to own or not to own. I don't know if it is legal or not to own a 5 watt argon in the USA nor do I give a shit. I will own one anyway.

Color? I'm assuming green. Look at any of the larger units here: http://www.rayfoss.com/product.asp?bigclassname=Rayfoss Lasers&midclassname=Green Laser

That doesn't mean anything, Opto is located in the US.
