He has taught me the particulars on safety, not the workings of the actual laser. I have some basic knowledge concerning output and light spectrum, but most of it comes from dealing with LEDs for my fish tank. He knows much more about the community and can translate my request into a working laser. Pretty sure if I told you guys I was really interested in a blue light saber that might not be too helpful. The only reason I am on the forum is to clear this up.

Best thing to do then is give us an idea of what you want and then some of us can come up with suggestions for you on what to buy and where to buy it. Let us know what colour you want, what you aim to do with it, any other requirements you may have that we can look into.

No offence to GLR but it's probably best if you stick around and learn, get to know the community (or at least just learn, no biggie if you don't get to know us! :p ) and deal with sellers/companies directly yourself - seeing as your last dealing going through GLR didn't end so well... For anyone involved by the looks of it.

Did you see the pictures VV posted? Someone, somewhere along the line did some real nasty soldering on that thing.

Not sure what the current status is ...

I feel like an IP address isn't really a good way to identify someone. I could log in from work and it'd be a different IP from at home. Or I could use my mobile hotspot, again, different IP - probably even a completely different location for my cell - likely show up as Edmonton or some such instead of Yellowknife.

...

Anyway ... just pointing that out.

Very true, however on the contrary, it is a pretty good way of differentiating. For example, if they're both on at the same time with different IP's, it's clear that they're probably two different people. I mean sure, if he really wanted to he could essentially try with a second identity, but if he was doing it all himself he would need 2 PCs and 2 internet lines(or one if using a VPN/proxy/any other IP mask, but still needs 2 PCs unless a VM is being used), one for each account, and then configure everything so he's not detected. Then I guess it would be up to you to judge whether you think he would go through the time and trouble to do so :p

That is the laser in question. I bought it for him, it broke because of quality problems(the diode still works) when i was using it, and now vv is repairing it.

Or Tor browser running along side a regular browser - that'd net the same result and you can do both simultaneously - no need for a VM or two PCs/connections :p Firefox/Chrome in incognito mode with a proxy would work too. Lots of ways to do it with one machine and one internet connection. ;)

AS I said - not accusing anyone of anything or arguing either way - just pointing that out. It's real trivial to do.

Any update as to the status of the repairs VV or GLR?

Right, completely forgot about Tor, wow  though I'd imagine chrome would have the same cookies/cache through incognito?

As far as I know any existing non-incognito cookies are ignored and it deletes any new cookies that were generated at the end of the incognito session - same as Firefox private mode. It'll log some stuff to your account if you sign into it with a google account apparently but you'd still show up as a different person with a different IP to whoever is looking through their logs (If you had Chrome configured to use a proxy of course).

Ah interesting, I owe you a rep my friend! Once I'm able to that is. Anyway, back to the topic, how's the repair GLR?

Oh yeah, that was a "beauty":cryyy:
Goldenvogt please put a end to this confusion. Is VV going to fix this for you and all will be fine now?:)

Edit: GLR we know it wasn't your soldering buddie.

Virtue is going to fix it for him, and I will get to him. Oh, and that soldering is all stock. I did not solder anything in that laser.
